Netflix's Quarterback & How Nothing Beats Story
My daughters don’t care about football. Not a lick.
My oldest, who is a sophomore at The University of Texas — who owns the #1 in College Football Value Rankings — goes to Longhorn football games “for the vibes.” She has little idea about what’s happening on the field, and really doesn’t care. Truth is, I turn on NFL games each Sunday afternoon, not to be entertained, but to have background noise for my nap. Even more truthfully, other than Super Bowl games, I have not seen an entire NFL game in over a decade. NFL games are just too long and boring with just over 11-minutes of game play.1
But my daughters and I spent this Sunday binge-watching the Peyton Manning produced docu-series, Quarterback. We couldn’t turn it off. Why? Quarterback is not about football. It’s about 3 quarterbacks — their wives, their children, their disappointments, their setbacks, basically, their stories.
